Positive Reinforcement

Positive reinforcement dog training is a training strategy that promotes good conduct rather than penalising bad behaviour.  Dogs who have been educated through punishing them are 25 percent more inclined to respond aggressively. One of the most effective ways to teach your pet not to snap or be violent is to keep them calm and use positive reinforcement strategies. This training will especially emphasise praising the dog for good behaviour rather than penalising them for bad behaviour.

Praise and treat your puppy, for example, when they respond to your instruction to halt unwanted biting and when they pick an acceptable teething toy on their own. If your pup is playing well or sitting quietly, give them a soft pat and a treat. 

Socialisation

A well-socialised pooch is less likely to be afraid in unfamiliar circumstances, which reduces the possibility of violence. As per studies, dogs that are not properly socialised are more prone to have behavioural issues later in life. If you are unable to attend puppy kindergarten, continue to expose your new puppy to those other dogs in other settings. Dogs that do not have enough human interaction as pups are the most challenging to break free from their phobia of people in later life.

You should take advantage of having your puppy learn from other canines. If you are unable to enrol in a puppy class, ask your well-behaved dog pals or neighbours over for some play dates.
